Warborn at EGX Rezzed 2019

Posted by Josh

Warborn was recently playable for the first time ever at EGX Rezzed!
It was so great to see players give Warborn a try and I enjoyed chatting with everyone who stopped by the booth to say hello.

On top of being publicly playable, it was also the first time we’ve shown the updated key art and some of the new in-game artwork for Warborn.

Here are a few of my photos from the event: Warborn Rezzed 1 Warborn Rezzed 2 Warborn Rezzed 3

We also had great neighbours and it was brilliant to see their games and get to know them too. Warborn Rezzed 3

Check out their awesome games:
Jack by Orangutan Matter - A puzzle platformer with lovely hand drawn and painted artwork.
Rainswept by Frostwood Interactive - An emotional murder mystery adventure game with a charming art style.
Sail Forth by David Evans - A procedural sailing adventure with exciting ship battles.

Special thanks to my friend Andy Lloyd for keeping me fed and watered throughout the show!

End of 2018 Summary

Posted by Josh

2018 has been a great year for Raredrop Games. Busy, stressful and tiring but also great! Throughout the year I’ve been continuing work on Warborn as well as a number of other external projects so it’s been a plate spinning situation most of the time. But hey, nobody said running a micro games studio was going to be easy. Three and a half years later it’s still going and Warborn is the most ambitious project to date.

It’s been a hectic and exciting few months leading up to the announcement trailer for Warborn which went live in November along with the Steam page.

Really happy with how everything turned out and it’s thanks to the hard work of all those involved, so a massive thank you to:
Tom Waterhouse - Artwork/Animation
Luke Thomas - Audio
Sapphire/Sapphberry - Vocals
Sarah Bright - Video Editing

Thanks also to those who messaged or emailed me to express their interest in the game or provide feedback.

The aim of the trailer was to establish the tone of the game world and demonstrate some of the core gameplay. Which hopefully it did? I think a few people were given the impression that the game is finished and launching in early 2019 but that isn’t the case and it will be a bit later in the year (sorry to those who thought that). Warborn is very much in development and what’s shown in the announcement trailer is still a work in progress. There’s still a lot to be done before Warborn is ready for players, but I’m excited to show more of the game next year in 2019.

Happy Holidays!
